Prahlad Acharya is an internationally renowned shadow play artist and storyteller who was also one of the much deserving finalists on the TV reality show India’s Got Talent 2015.
The shadow acts present a highly entertaining mix of hand shadows & interactive tales from the animal & human world, where hands artistically encounter a source of light, to project on a large screen.
He is also a magician, illusionist, escapologist, stunt performer and also performs ventriloquism. His show is called Maya Jadoo, which is a performance of Indian illusions with a combination of drama and magic which he addresses as ‘dramagic’.
Be it any story, Prahlad depicts each character with so much flair and confidence that the audience relates with the act easily.
Without any fancy props, shimmer or any glitter to present his shadow acts, Prahlad takes the viewer in a truly magical world where shadows speak and come to life.
Prahlad has received the ‘Outstanding Magician Award’ at Vismayam 2000 - the International Magicians' Convention, ‘Gold medal’ for Ventriloquism & ‘Silver medal’ for Close Up Magic at the Golden Magic Conference, Kerala in 1999 and Founded the Magic & Allied Arts Development & Research Institute in Udupi in 1998.
He has performed at numerous live events, in India and all over the world, including Australia, Singapore, the Middle East, Switzerland and Germany.
